Graduate of Alberta School of Mortuary Science 1977. Licensed funeral director and embalmer in Alberta and B.C.  Graduate of Business Administration program University of Victoria 1997.  Hired and appointed to current position by Board of Cemetery Trustees February 1997. 


Family Service and Administration

PhotoLorraine Fracy - Family Service Counselor: Lorraine has been in the funeral and cemetery services profession since 1996 working in the Lower Mainland and here in Greater Victoria. Before she began her career in death care Lorraine was a manager and marketing specialist in the retail services sector. Lorraine joined the family service team at Royal Oak in March 2001

Leanne Walker - Family Service Counselor: Leanne graduated from the Alberta School of Mortuary Science in 1980 and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Alberta and B.C. She is a graduate of the University of Victoria Public Sector Management diploma program. Leanne joined the family service team at Royal Oak in March 2005.

Ray Laursen  - Operations Supervisor: Joining the service team as a grounds person 1986 Ray was appointed to his current position in 1994. Ray is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all outside grounds staff as they provide services to client families and perform maintenance of the Burial Park.

Wendy Foster - Administrative Coordinator: Wendy was awarded her Certified Accountant designation form the Institute of Chartered Accountants of B.C. in 2006. Wendy brings a wide range of knowledge and experience from the retail service sector, small business ownership and management, and financial accounting in the private and public sector. Wendy joined the family service team at Royal Oak in March 2006.


Family Service and Operations

Operations Crew -  11 Full-Time and 3 Seasonal Workers are responsible for all delivery of service and maintenance of 65 acres of developed cemetery grounds which contain approximately 60,000 interment and memorial sites.  Also responsible for operation of on-site crematorium facility and community mausoleum.

Board of Cemetery Trustees of Greater Victoria

Mr. Richard 'Dick' Tuckey - Chair:  Partner and practising accountant with local accounting firm. District of Saanich appointee and member of Board since 2003.

Mr. Michael Davison - Vice Chair:  Retired lawyer with specialty in labour relations, collective bargaining and labour law in the private sector and provincial civil service. City of Victoria appointee and member of Board since

Mrs. Bea Holland - Trustee: City of Victoria Councillor.  Retired business and not-for profit organization manager and seniors advocate.  City of Victoria appointee and member of the Board since 1996.

Mrs. Lois Toms - Trustee: Practising lawyer in provincial civil service.  District of Saanich appointee and member of Board since 2005.

Mr. Maurice Chazottes – Trustee: Retired journalist, was former Chief of Hansard and Executive Director of Information Service with the Province of B.C.  Maurice has extensive experience in community service including elected service as a councilor and Mayor in North Saanich as well as service on the CRD Parks Advisory Board, the Greater Victoria Public Library Board and the Saanich Police Board. Mr. Chazottes was appointed to the Board of Cemetery Trustees in 2005.

Mr. D. Christopher Lawless Trustee - Mr. Lawless holds a Masters of Economics from Carleton University and has extensive experience in finance and economics in the public sector.  He is currently the chief Economist for the B.C. Investment Management Corporation.  Chirrs has also served on many professional boards including being President of the Canadian Association for Business Economics, and service on the External Advisory Committee, Border Policy Research of Western Washington University  and the B.C. representative on the Advisory council of the conference Board of Canada. Mr. Lawless was appointed to the Board of Cemetery Trustees in January 2006.
